The Rock Tamers 3" Official Mudflap System 00112 seems to be a pretty versatile option for protecting your fifth wheel trailer from rocks and debris. It’s specifically designed for vehicles with a 3" hitch receiver and offers adjustable length, width, and rotation settings. This adjustability can be quite useful because it lets you tweak the setup based on whatever you're hauling.
Installing the mudflaps is fairly easy, and you can take them off when you’re not towing, which is handy if you don’t want a permanent setup.
That said, experiences with these mudflaps do vary. Our research indicates many people are happy with how well they protect their trailers and appreciate the sturdy build and flexibility in different towing configurations.
However, it’s worth noting a few issues some have mentioned. A common recommendation for those who tow heavier loads is to swap out the included hardware for something more robust to prevent any potential issues with stress and installation.
Compatibility is another point to consider. Though the system is designed to be flexible, you might need a hitch extender if the fit isn’t quite right for your truck.
So, it's important to double-check that your vehicle and hitch will work with these mudflaps before buying. Being ready for any extra adjustments or tweaks can save you from a headache later on.
All in all, while the Rock Tamers 3" Mudflap System is generally well-regarded, being mindful of potential installation and fit issues can help ensure it works smoothly with your fifth wheel setup.
